Val Senales in South Tyrol

Val Senales – where silence speaks to you.

Summer here: feel your blood pulsing, hear the mountains whispering.

When the sun dances over the glaciers, Val Senales reveals all its magic: mountain hikes across blooming alpine meadows, cool glacier water at your feet, warm air filled with the scent of herbs. Take the glacier cable car up to Iceman Ötzi Peak – just 10 minutes from the mountain station up to 3,251 metres. There you will experience the breath of the mountains: 126 three-thousand-metre peaks in three countries, the Similaun snowfield and a panorama that will stay with you forever.

Tips for the adventurous: Larix via ferrata, mountain carts on Lazaun, romantic open-air huts.

Winter tranquillity, snow magic – awaken your soul in white

When frost covers the landscape with a diamond glaze, the Schnals Valley becomes the stage for winter dreams: powder snow on secluded slopes, quiet winter hiking trails through snow-covered forests, and the glacier cable car that takes you to challenging slopes with guaranteed snow in the Alpin Arena Schnals.

History that moves you – culture that inspires you

This is where history meets the present: Karthaus, once the Carthusian monastery of Allerengelberg, old stones steeped in history. Anyone walking through the Via Monachorum as part of the Silentium project can feel the breath of the monks and the special aura of this secluded place.

Another magnet is the Iceman Ötzi Peak – not only because of the breathtaking view, but also because you can look out over the glacier where Ötzi walked over 5,300 years ago. And down in the valley, the ArcheoParc Schnalstal tells the story of his life, hunting, everyday life and tools – close enough to become tangible.
