Holidays in Vintl – Discover the Fundres Valley
Vintl: In the heart of the Fundres Valley – nature, tradition and life
A place full of greenery, stories and artisan spirit
Vintl, a municipality covering over 110 km² at the entrance to the Puster Valley (760 m), enchants visitors with its green spaces, well-tended gardens and picturesque façades. The village centre is located directly at the start of the hiking trails, while the church hill is embraced by larch trees. Historically, people used to visit the oil fountain in the parish church, which was believed to have healing powers. The Fundres Valley stands for unspoilt natural landscapes, authentic crafts (loden, cheese) and traditional mountain life.
Nature, mountains and lively encounters
The Fundres Valley is a paradise for nature lovers and mountaineers, with numerous hiking trails such as the Höfeweg and the Pfunderer Höhenweg. You may even encounter ibexes and marmots there.
Loden fabric, cheese enjoyment and customs merge in the Fundres Valley
Robust loden fabrics are produced in Vintl, and the Lodenwelt offers insights into their manufacture and sale. The Capriz Erlebniskäserei attracts visitors with handmade goat's cheese, which can be tasted and observed being produced live. In addition, the Pfundres Farm Trail leads visitors into traditional farm life, where crafts such as barrel making, felting and straw hat making are still practised.
Winter magic and mountain culture in the Vintl-Pfunderertal valley
In winter, Vintl-Pfunderertal combines winter sports and culture: the nearby Gitschberg Jochtal ski area, snowshoeing and ski touring in the Pfunderertal valley and peaceful winter walks create a tranquil, authentic mountain world. In addition, Lodenwelt, Capriz Feinkäserei and traditional mountain villages with cultural splendour and warm cosiness attract visitors.
