The Culturamartell Visitor Centre is idyllically located in the Martell Valley (Val Martello) in South Tyrol, in the heart of the Stelvio National Park. Situated right next to the Trattla leisure complex, the centre is easily accessible and the ideal starting point for cultural and nature experiences.
The permanent exhibition ‘In Martell, in mein Tol’ takes visitors on a four-storey journey into the life of mountain farmers. Interactive audio stations, video installations and exciting exhibits show the close connection between people and nature, old customs, religious rituals and the centuries-old cultural landscape of the Martell Valley. A highlight is the ‘Stube’, where the last midwife of the valley tells touching stories of times gone by.
Archaeological finds
Archaeological finds such as an ornate bronze dagger from the Bronze Age bear witness to the valley's long history. The National Park Centre is also a lively meeting place: theatre performances, seminars and family activities make a visit here a varied experience. Children can play with wooden blocks in a specially designed area or romp around in the hay.
