Sulden is a popular mountaineering and skiing area at the foot of the Ortler, known for its snow-sure slopes, impressive glacier world and the world's largest cable car. The high-altitude ski resort is also a paradise for hikers and mountain bikers in summer, who will find numerous routes here. Cultural highlights include the Messner Mountain Museums and the Museum in the Mountain, which focus on ice, glaciers and alpinism.

A snow-sure paradise above the clouds

From October to early May, Sulden transforms into a snow-sure ski resort with 40 kilometres of slopes for all skill levels. The modern cable car quickly takes you up to the heights – perfect runs with magnificent panoramic views. In addition to skiing, there are high-altitude cross-country trails, a evening toboggan run and winter adventures.

Summit bliss and mountain magic

Sulden attracts visitors with its well-marked trails and spectacular views. Mountain biking and climbing complement the range of activities on offer for adrenaline junkies, while quieter paths provide space to breathe deeply.

Excursion tips:

• Sulden Glacier Trail:
  Route along the moraine field of the glaciers below Ortler, Königsspitze and Zebrù; re-marked every year.
  
• Dossobello di Dentro:
  Moderately difficult mountain tour with magnificent views of the Ortler area; sure-footedness and a head for heights are important.
  
• Laghetti del Coston - Gratseen:
  Moderately difficult hike, chairlift start, lakes reflect the surrounding mountains.
  
• Punta Beltovo di Dentro:
  South Tyrol's easiest three-thousander; enjoy the view and stop for refreshments at the Madritschhütte.
  
• Stilfserjoch themed trails:
  A variety of trails from forest paths to high alpine routes – also suitable for families.
