Glurns

Medieval Jewel in South Tyrol

Glurns – South Tyrol's smallest town with medieval charm

Glurns is located in the upper Vinschgau Valley, on the banks of the Rambach stream. The completely preserved town wall with four corner towers and three town gates dating from 1580 encloses picturesque alleys, arcades and an authentic medieval atmosphere. Glurns has been an official town since 1304 and has retained its ancient character ever since.

Highlights at a glance:

  • Minimalist town, maximum charm: the ring-shaped fortifications, the Torretta, the historic town houses – everything tells a story you can touch.
  • Atmospheric old town landscape: narrow streets, picturesque corners and an authentic medieval experience.
  • History you can feel: the well-preserved ring wall, gates and turrets provide insights into urban life in times gone by.

Whether you want to stroll through the narrow alleys, enjoy the view from the city walls or discover the history behind every corner – Glurns offers a unique journey into the past.
