La Val, also known as Wengen, is a Ladin village in Alta Badia, South Tyrol, which is proudly certified as a ‘European Hiking Village’. La Val – The ideal starting point for nature lovers and hikers
La Val is the perfect starting point for countless hikes in the Fanes-Sennes-Prags Nature Park and the <Puez-Geisler Mountains. From here, you can reach the unspoilt Antersasc Valley or the Ritjoch biotope, among other places. The secluded Chapel of St. Barbara on the ‘Memento Vivere’ meditation trail is also a popular destination – ideal for moments of peace and inspiration.
In winter, the region attracts winter sports enthusiasts: the nearby ski resorts of Kronplatz, Alta Badia and the entrance to the Sellaronda – the spectacular circumnavigation of the Sella massif on skis. Ice skating and leisurely carriage rides through the snow-covered landscape round off the winter experience.
