Ahrntal: Mühlwald-Lappach
An Oasis of Beauty in South Tyrol
In the midst of the wild and romantic Tauferer Ahrntal valley, surrounded by mountains and lined with lush alpine meadows, lie the villages of Mühlwald (1,220 m) and Lappach (1,436 m). The municipality of Mühlwald comprises the villages of Außermühlwald and Lappach. There is also an extensive scattered settlement with individual farms and small hamlets.
Mühlwald/Lappach offers cultural and historical highlights
Historic mill systems along hiking trails tell the story of agriculture and water management in the past. A small museum or exhibition in the village provides an insight into everyday life, traditional costumes and crafts in the region. Combining both allows you to experience nature, building culture and regional autonomy history in a compact way. Note: Opening hours vary; the Bolzano-South Tyrol Tourist Office can provide up-to-date information.
