After 1835, Ignaz von Giovanelli redesigned a medieval tower into living quarters, which was then enlarged and transformed from 1900-1906 to contain typical Überetscher elements. This work was done under instructions of the Austrian empire’s agricultural minister Carl von Giovanelli and with the explicit support of the court in Vienna. Wall paintings and frescos by Ignaz Stolz can be seen in the house chapel.
