Castle Chapel of St. Pankratius

Burgkapelle St. Pankratius - Dorf Tirol

The lower floor dates back to the 12th century, the upper floor to around 1270, while the furnishings are mainly 14th century. The western wall bears the oldest coloured portrayal of the Tyrolean eagle and the Kärnten (Corinthia) coat-of-arms. The altar by Klockner was returned to the chapel in 1993 after a long absence, having been removed to the castle. The monumental Gothic Crucifixion group above the triumphal arch is breathtaking.
