The apse and parts of the wall are part of a Romanesque building documented from 1276 though the church was built in its present form in the early 15th century. The interior is completely frescoed, painted in the period from the mid 14th century to around 1430. The St. Ursula cycle is striking and the Passion of Christ on the western and northern walls is one of the most detailed in all Tyrol, executed around 1400.
