This 12th century church in the Romanesque style was remodeled after 1735 into a unique Baroque jewel, whose diverse ornamentation already foreshadowed the ornate playfulness of teh rococo. The characteristics of the external structure determine the arching framework of the windows, the statue niches, the magnificent main facade crowned by a cross, trumpeting angels and flaming basins, the spiraling buttresses and the graceful round tower, whose conical cupola was replaced by an onion-shaped dome during the Baroque remodeling. This is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful Baroque churches in Tyrol.
