This church as first mentioned in documents dating from 1293, though it was replaced with a new building in 1781. Of special note is the 1782 fresco depicting the ‘Martyrdom of St. Virgilius’ by Matthäus Günther, as well as the baroque altar statues by the Bruneck master Silly.
