St. Zeno in Pein was built in the 12th or 13th century. This little church lies south-west of the parish church on a lonely hill, between two gorges. It is built in early Romanesque style. In 1794/95 the church tower was added. The frescoes inside the church are by the Baroque painter Johann Mitterwurzer.
In August 2003 a meditation path, the so-called Besinnungsweg der Schmerzen Mariens nach St. Zeno, was laid out and now leads to this little church. Along the path there are seven tree trunks with scenes from the life of the Virgin Mary. It is ideal for a recreational walk or hike.
